The Couple

Our team, Sets On The Beach, started playing in the August heat on Saturday mornings, and it quickly became the highlight of our weeks. The team often hung out after, grabbing smoothies or hanging out by someone’s pool.

As we started to spend more time together, we learned we had more in common than just our competitive spirits on the court. We never said no to ice cream, we preferred board games over late nights at the bar, and we were always interested in a workout.

After only a couple of months into seeing each other, we both wanted to leave the peak Florida winter weather to spend it on a ski trip in Colorado. We had so much fun that we’ve taken that same trip every winter since.

We had gotten more than we could have hoped for out of Miami, and not long after, realized our lifestyle was better suited for California. We moved into an old, charming apartment together in San Francisco in September 2023.

The list of things we love doing together here is long. We love how much we can do that we both enjoy: weekend getaways to Tahoe, early morning trips to the driving range, and of course, late night ice cream runs.

While even the ordinary days here feel like an adventure, some of our favorite memories are during our travels together — one of those being when Gabe proposed on a trip in Italy overlooking Piazzale Michelangelo in September 2025. That moment felt obvious since we had been playing beach volleyball together.
