Sights
There is SO much to do in Toronto. A short weekend trip doesn’t do the city justice. Be sure to check out our Google map on the Travel Recs page to see the suggested areas to walk, shop and eat.
If you are looking to do a few touristy/sight-seeing things, take a look at the list below. Note: given the time of year, we wouldn’t suggest you visit Toronto Island, Woodbine Beach or Tommy Thompson Park.
CN Tower
Worth going up to see the views and glass floor, but don’t eat at the restaurant (not worth it)! Buy a Flex Ticket either in advance or when you arrive.
Lakeshore Bike Ride
So fun and decently short (~2 hours roundtrip with stops), but obviously weather-dependent. You can rent the city bikes that are available from many stations along the waterfront. You can also walk stretches of this, if preferred! This is mapped out on the Google map for you.
Niagara Falls
The Canadian side of the falls is truly breathtaking. You can ride a boat at the base of the Falls, which is a really cool experience. It is about a 1.5 hour drive from the city, or a 2 hour train (VIA Rail or GO train) and could be a single day trip if you want to do it. There isn’t much else to do in the Niagara region during this time of the year (in the summer, there are a lot of wineries), and the strip nearest to the falls is much like Atlantic City/Myrtle Beach, so it isn’t somewhere most people like to hang out for longer than a day.
St Lawrence Market
This is a great spot to stop by for lunch after you arrive Thursday or on Friday. There are tons of local vendors and shops. One popular spot would be Carousel Bakery. The St Lawrence Market is a historic, world-renowned food hub established in 1803.
Distillery District
A great spot to stop by / walk through after the workout if you’re joining us for that! Browse breweries, art galleries, and food spots in a quaint, red-bricked area that is walking only.
Museums
No matter the exhibits during these dates, the AGO and ROM are typically both worth visiting if you are a museum go-er!
Shows/Concerts
Check out ConcertsTO.com for any shows you might be interested in seeing on Friday night. You might also consider a show at the Mirvish Theater, or a comedy show at The Second City.
Catch a Sports Game
You can likely catch a Raptors or Leafs game if they are in town, and depending on their playoff run, maybe the Blue Jays!
Walking Areas
You can’t go wrong walking or shopping in Yorkville, Ossington, or West Queen West!
